On the KAQ design I noticed that he just stitched right through the whole quilt to keep it from shifting around. I read that baffels for down will prevent cold spots. How does one do this for a synthetic quilt?

You’ll also notice in the KAQ how to that the insulation is hand quilted every foot or so.  This works fine with continuous filament insulation like Climashild XP (the tutorial calls for Polarguard wich is obsolete now).  For short fiber stuff like Permaloft you need to actually run stitching across at various intervals to hold things in place.

I have never heard of anyone using baffles with synthetic insulation.  If I were going to that much trouble I would use down.
