Hi All
I am going to add a mesh front pouch to my ion pack. It will have gussets at the
bottom and a draw cord closure at the top but I am not sure of the best way to
go about the draw cord channel.
I guess I have to sew a tube and then sew that to the top of the mesh, and use a
button hole to draw the cord through.

Is there a good way to go about this?
Am I on the right track with the tube?

Thanks
Andrew

The way you’re planning will work fine.

As an alternative, you could use a grosgrain strip folded in half with an iron.  Sew the drawcord ends to the ends of the grosgrain and pass a bight through an exit point like a button hole or grommet.  Slip the mesh between the fold, then sew the two long edges of the grosgrain together, taking care not to catch the drawcord.
