Ok so after lurking in this and other diy sites. I ready to tackle building a back pack but I still have a few questions that would like to have someone answer for me if they could.

1.  What determines the size of a pack (small, medium, and large) how do you determine where to attach the shoulder straps.

2.  How far apart should they be where they attach to the pack?
