I have been sewing some of my own gear for about a year now: hammock, bug net, stuffsacks and quilt.  I am intrigued by the apparel kits on Thru-Hiker.  Which of the kits would be good projects to get started on?  My skill on the sewing machine is getting better but not great.  Thanks for the advice.

As long as you stay away from the Maxima and Whitney you’ll have the best chance for success.  Once you’ve got at least one of the other synthetic apparel kits under your belt you can tackle those two.

I’d start with a LR Shell, pants, or maybe the Minima if you want something insulated.

Thanks for the advice. That is what I was thinking, but the confirmation is much appreciated.
