Hi. I bought some ‘extra-fine’ 60/8 machine needles to experiment with and now I’m trying to figure what threads are available. My ‘normal’ thread’s too thick, plus it looks like I’ll need eyes like Gollum even if I get the right stuff. Any thoughts please.

Got some advice from a sewing forum about Gutermann’s ‘Sew-all’ thread. Looks a good one for general work and fine enough for lighter materials, but if anyone has their own suggestions, I’d be happy to hear them. Thanks for reading.

Both the Gutermann and Metrosene brands of 100% polyester work well.

Thanks Ayce. Looks like I’ll be sticking with Gutermanns ‘Sew-all’. Someone did suggest ‘overlockers thread’, but I had a look and it seemed too ‘hairy’ for a normal machine so likely to leave lint in the works.
