Hi there, I’m just thinking of starting my second project with climashield XP bought from this site, but I realise I have left it stuffed away in the box it was shipped in for about 6 months. Will that have permanently reduced it’s usefulness, or will it spring back if I leave it uncompressed for a while?

any thoughts/experience would be appreciated!

Repeated overcompression, such as the day-in day-out use of a compression sack, are the most damaging to synthetics.  Think thru-hiker cramming his bag into the smallest space in a tiny frameless rucksack.  What you did wasn’t good for the insulation, but shipping boxes aren’t heavily compressed; you should be fine.

Have a blast with your new project

Thanks Paul, that’s as I thought, but it’s good to have it confirmed. I’ll use common sense as to whether any of it looks really mangled. Time to draw the patterns and order a bit more shell fabric.

all the best,
